Rapid 3D imaging of the airway by MRI in patients with congenital heart disease: comparison of delayed volume interpolated breath hold examination (VIBE) technique to the turbo spin echo (TSE)
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background When imaging the airway by MRI, the traditional technique turbo spin echo (TSE) results in high quality 2D images of the airway. However, planning and acquisition times are often lengthy. An alternative technique for airway image acquisition, delayed volume interpolated breath hold examination or VIBE, is a 3D gradient echo technique that produces high spatial resolution imaging of the airway in one breath hold. The aim of this study was to compare airway measurements obtained by both TSE and delayed VIBE sequences in order to demonstrate that the quicker delayed VIBE produces a comparable evaluation of the airway to the standard technique.

MR Urography in Patients with Acute Flank Pain: Comparison of Gadolinium-Enhanced 3D FLASH After Low-Dose Diuretic with 2D Turbo Spin Echo Sequences
Introduction: Intravenous excretory urography (IVU) has been regarded as the imaging modality of choice for the detection of urinary tract disorders in patients with acute flank pain. Functional as well as anatomical details are provided by this imaging technique. The use of ionised radiation and contrast material (CM) are considered to be the major drawbacks of IVU. Recently, the use of magnet...

PURPOSE The aim of this prospective study was to evaluate the diagnostic utility of volumetric interpolated breath-hold examination (VIBE) and half-Fourier-acquisition single-shot turbo spin-echo (HASTE) fast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) sequences in the evaluation of pulmonary progressive massive fibrosis (PMF) in comparison with computed tomography (CT) imaging. If fast MRI is proven to b...

Introduction: Dynamic gadolinium-enhanced T1-weighted images are a critical component of clinical liver MRI examinations for focal lesion detection and characterization. This is typically performed as a 3D acquisition using chemically-selective fat-saturation, as demonstrated by the volumetric interpolated breath-hold examination (VIBE) sequence. A limitation of this approach is that chemically...
